AUVSI Unmanned Systems Defense (USD) is where military leaders and industry executives set the course for innovation to support critical missions. This specialized program equips the armed services and their partners with the information and relationships they need to meet constantly shifting threats around the globe. The 2021 webinar series features high-ranking officials and program managers from all branches of the military and public security agencies, exploring programs of record and the latest procurement practices to speed acquisition of unmanned systems for critical operations.
Due to the ongoing challenges with the current novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, AUVSI and the USD Program Committee made the decision to host the conference virtually. Doing so allows us to continue driving engagement between the military, government, and industry and providing a forum to address the needs of critical missions and explore the available unmanned solutions.
New for 2021, USD will be broken into three phases throughout the year, each featuring a three-day webinar series to engage with key policymakers, acquisition leaders, and unmanned systems stakeholders on the DoD budget road map and discover how unmanned technologies are transforming the front lines of national security. Each phase will feature a day dedicated to each operational domain — following the cadence of maritime, air, and ground.
- Phase I | April 13-15, 2021
- Phase II | July 27-29, 2021
- Phase III | October 19-21, 2021

AUVSI worked to offer this program for a nominal registration fee to make it as accessible as possible for the community. Even so, registration fees are necessary to offset the resources required to deliver a high-quality program. The USD program features a total of nine two-hour webinars to educate and inform stakeholders throughout the unmanned defense community about programs of record, procurement processes and federal business opportunities.
