Wayne Devereux has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Ohio University, and an Executive Master of Science degree in Science and Technology Commercialization from the University of Texas, McCombs School of Business. He is a Sector Manager for Wyleï¿½s Integrated Hardware Solutions Sector, with over 30 years engineering and management experience developing Naval aircraft systems and leading federal and commercial research and development programs, prototype and production efforts, and test and evaluation projects for underwater, surface, ground, aircraft and space electronics and vehicle systems. He has designed and tested systems for tactical and strategic aircraft, neutral buoyant underwater and space based telerobotic experiments, and tactical UAS systems, including development of experimental UAS pods.
Wayne has been involved with AUVSI since the 1995 Unmanned Systems conference and performed market research for his Master courses on unmanned systems. He has been a Seafarer's Chapter member since early 2000's, on the Seafarer's Board of Directors since 2010, and is currently Vice President of the Chapter. Wayne has been a Judge for the AUVSI Student UAS competition since the 4th competition, and is Head Judge for the SUAS competition. He has supported many other Southern Maryland STEM initiatives including Science Fairs in each County, helped start-up the FIRST Robotics Team RoboBee's, initiated middle and high school VEX and Tech Robotics teams in each County, and supported the start-up and Judging of CSM's Robotic Challenge.
